Who doesn’t love a good brownie?

They are one of the most popular desserts in America, and for good reason.

Brownies are rich, chocolatey, chewy, and satisfying. They can be enjoyed plain or with toppings like ice cream, whipped cream, nuts or frosting.

They can be made for any occasion, from birthday parties to potlucks to movie nights. Or just make them because it’s Tuesday night and you love brownies!

Ever wonder where brownies came from? Well, we did too! So we did some research and here’s what we found:

The history of brownies is a bit murky, but most sources agree that they originated in the United States at the end of the 19th century. Some say that they were a result of a mistake by a baker who forgot to add baking powder to a chocolate cake batter. Others say that brownies were inspired by a recipe for chocolate cookies that appeared in a Fannie Farmer cookbook. Either way, they soon became a hit and spread across the country.

Brownies are typically made with flour, butter, sugar, eggs and cocoa powder. Some variations include adding chocolate chips, nuts, caramel or other ingredients. However, if you want to make your brownies more nutritious and delicious, you can try using Organic Whole Grain Einkorn Flour instead of regular flour.

Einkorn is one of the oldest varieties of wheat that humans have cultivated. It has not been hybridized or modified like modern wheat, so it retains its original flavor and nutrients. Einkorn flour has more protein, fiber, antioxidants and minerals than regular wheat flour. It also has a lower gluten content and a simpler genetic structure that makes it easier to digest for some people.

Einkorn flour has a nutty flavor and a light texture that works well in baked goods like brownies. It gives them a nice crumb and a moist center without making them too dense or dry. You can use Organic Whole Grain Einkorn Flour as a one-to-one substitute for regular whole wheat flour in most recipes.

Not bad, not a fan of a lot of sugar anymore but I did want some brownies. Tried this out and ended up using the full recipe in a 9×13 cast iron pan and added 5 min to the cook time. Turned out great, most people I shared it with liked it but it wasn’t hard and tasted great.
